Location
St Bees is an ideal location for both corporate and leisure guests alike. We are located close to so many of the Lake District's most stunning and secluded settings including Buttermere, Loweswater, Crummock Water, Wast Water and Ennerdale Water. The Wasdale Valley is an absolute must for any visit to the area, there truly is no better setting in the Lake District where The Screes drop into Wast Water and the head of the valley is home to some many of the region's tallest mountains including Scafell, Scafell Pike, Great Gable and Pillar. Better still, we have the added advantage of being located right on the coast and there is a beautiful sandy beach at St. Bees which really is ideal for sunbathing during the Summer.
There are a number of very good pubs serving real ales and heary bar meals, plus an excellent restaurant (Platform 9) all within a few minutes walk of Fleatham House.
We are also pretty well placed when it comes to golf, as St Bees has its own challenging 9 hole course, but the west coast offers some fabulous links style courses at Seascale, Maryport and Silloth.
For shops, restaurants, attractions and activities visitors will find nearby Whitehaven, Workington and Maryport have plenty to offer including The Lake District Coast Aquarium at Maryport, The Rum Story and The Beacon at Whitehaven.
Corporate visitors will find us well placed for Sellafield (10 minutes drive), West Lakes Business Park (10 minutes drive), Whitehaven (10 minutes drive) and Workington (20 minutes drive).
